Trusted, local pest control
Salt Lake’s seasons are tough on homes. We know what gets through.
Surrounded by mountains and shaped by distinct seasons, Salt Lake City is a beautiful place to live — but it also presents unique challenges for keeping pests out of your home. From cold, snowy winters that drive rodents indoors to hot, dry summers that trigger ant and spider infestations, pests in the Salt Lake Valley are an ever-present concern. Whether you live in Sugar House, The Avenues, Rose Park, or near the foothills of Millcreek, no part of the city is immune.
What’s bugging Salt Lake
The four pests our Salt Lake inspectors see most.
Carpenter ants
East Bench · Yalecrest
Nest inside wood siding, rafters, and wall voids. Active spring and summer — can cause real structural damage when ignored.
Paper wasps
Valley-wide
Build nests under eaves, patios, and deck furniture. They turn aggressive in late summer around play zones and outdoor living areas.
Mice & rats
Liberty Park · Glendale
Push indoors through unsealed vents and foundation cracks during cold winters. Older Salt Lake homes are especially vulnerable in attics, crawlspaces, and garages.
Spiders
Emigration Canyon · Federal Heights
Hobo and wolf spiders favor dark, undisturbed spaces — basements, closets, crawlspaces. Foothill and canyon homes see the highest pressure.
01
Climate degrades products fast
Salt Lake’s summer heat and dry air break down over-the-counter treatments quickly. Winters drive pests deeper into walls and attics where consumer sprays can’t reach.
02
Entry points are easy to miss
Older downtown homes have gaps around windows, crawlspaces, and foundations that aren’t visible without a trained inspection. DIY treats symptoms, not causes.
03
Infestations go deeper than you see
A few visible ants or spiders usually signal a larger problem behind the walls. Without expert tools and identification, most homeowners let it spread.

Frequently asked
Questions Salt Lake homeowners ask.
Are Saela's pest control methods safe for children & pets?
Yes. Our licensed products are EPA-approved and applied with safety in mind — targeting areas pests use, not areas people and pets use. We rotate premium products and methods to avoid environmental harm and prevent resistance.
What pests are covered by Saela's Protection Program?
Our Protection Program covers 29 of the most common household pests — mice, voles, wasps, spiders, ants, silverfish, earwigs, centipedes, scorpions, and many more.
Are there any guarantees or warranties on your services?
Yes. If pest activity returns between scheduled services, you're covered by free warranty re-services. We also guarantee only premium pest-management products are used on your home.
Is the service a one-time treatment?
We don't offer one-time service because it doesn't actually solve the problem. A one-time treatment kills visible adult pests but ignores eggs hatching weeks later. A consistent protection plan is the only way to keep pests away.
Does the treatment still work if it rains?
Absolutely. We only use the highest-quality products, designed so rain and water won't wash them away.
Is Saela Pest Control a legitimate business?
Yes. Over 3.4 million services performed nationwide, A+ BBB rating, ACE-certified entomologists on staff, and all service specialists accredited by the NPMA with background checks and continuous training.
How often do you recommend service appointments?
After your first service, we return in four weeks to control pests hatched from leftover eggs. After that we visit every eight weeks year-round — consistency is what keeps the barrier intact.
What does routine Saela service look like?
Your technician inspects the problem areas you've noticed, then the rest of the property, then spot-treats and applies the protective barrier. Typical visit is 30–45 minutes.
How long does the service take?
Most visits run 30–45 minutes. Larger properties or active infestations may take longer — we'll quote duration during your free inspection.
